The brief for this renovation of this grand Edwardian home had to make a rational, light-filled interior using gradations of a single hue: white. The challenge, then, was to imbue the rooms with a sense of personality using a minimal palette. Luckily, the client brief also emphasised the need for a “forgiving carpet” which lead to the iconoclastic, customised plaid floor covering which runs through the house as a signature leitmotif.
