South Yarra, 2017

The clear geometry of this 1990s buildings formed the touch-stone of an interior refurbishment based on strong, clean lines and bold volumes. Upon a new floor of polished terrazzo, a fire-place of ‘Silver Cloud’ granite, baton-faced cabinetry and a monolithic breakfast bar read as sculptural pieces. Venetian blinds emphasise horizontal lines. Leading to the top two floors, a cherry red carpet adds a lush touch; a thickened glass stairwell enclosure is a minimalist intervention designed for maximum graphic impact.
